October already?!

So the last time I posted was apparently 4 months ago! Sorry all! It's been a BUSY summer! I think we're on the downhill slide now, resting up before the holidays start! Lord knows how we run in December!

Let's see...what's new? Well, Evea's been crawling for a few weeks now. She's not getting into too much yet, which is nice. But it's only a matter of time! She's got the master to teach her all those naughty things to do! It won't be long, I'm sure! She got her 2 bottom teeth right at 6 months, but no sign of any others since. She has her drooling days, when we think something might be coming, but then nothing shows up. Oh well. We're in no hurry!

Easton can ride his bike now, and he's pretty darn proud! We've hauled his bike with us every weekend now for a month! Sometimes in his nightly prayers he even blesses his bike! I guess he knows what he's thankful for!

We're all thankful because Elwin got a new job. I guess many of you may not have know (since I've slacked off on posting!), but Elwin got laid off because his company was so slow right at the beginning of July. So he spent a few months doing odd jobs here and there, and being a much better housewife than I ever am! Honestly, I already miss him being at home! But, a real paycheck is better for everyone. He's now working for a framer from Leonardville. He's the 3rd man on their 3 man crew. So far he seems to like it and his boss and coworker...which is good, since there's only the 3 of them!

We got Dana all married off last weekend! It was a great day and went so smooth! I'm very happy to have a "new" brother-in-law, even though I've considered him one for years now! Dana looked beautiful, and the weather was perfect. Couldn't have asked for more! Well, okay, I think maybe they would have like to not have a tropical depression go thru Jamaica while they were on their honeymoon, but the wedding itself was perfect! Chelsey and Andrew up next!!!

Well, here's some pics from the past few months.

Evea is 3 months old...and Easton is 2 years! Holy cow!

Time sure does fly!!!

Things are going great here in the Dunstan household. Evea's all smiles and coos, and Easton's all scraped up! But that's just cuz he goes, goes, goes! He's good help and likes being a big brother. We've been back home a few times lately, so all he's talked about for the past few weeks are horses, cows, tractors and such!

We had Easton's 2nd birthday party a few weeks ago. He sure does have a lot of people who love him! What a lucky boy! We had lots of family, friends and neighbors come over for supper, gifts and cake. Not to mention there was a pigme goat to play with! Thanks Martha! And the fun continues cuz the goat is still at Martha's house (the kids babysitter), so he gets to play with it every day! It thinks it's a dog I think.

Easton and I went to the pool in Osborne yesterday and had a great time. I'm pretty sure he has absolutely NO fear of the water. Which is good, mostly. I think a little fear of the water isn't a bad thing, especially since it is dangerous at times. So Momma definitely has to keep her eyes open! We should be starting swimming lessons in the next week or two. It'll be his second year.

Not too much new with Evea right now, other than she is sleeping thru the night!!! Pretty great for Momma! She's been doing that for a few weeks now. She's smiling lots and cooing quite a bit. She loves to lay flat and kick and stretch. But she never passes up a good cuddle either!

Here's a link to the May album, which has Easton's birthday party.

Here is the link to Evea's 3 month photos. And here's a preview.

New pics and short update

New pictures are up on Facebook in the March/April album.

Everyone is doing well. Evea is growing and weighed in at 11lbs 6oz the other day. She's also 23 inches long now. Easton has also grown and is now 33lbs!!! He's in the 94th percentile for weight now, which just amazes me since he came out in the 5th percentile!!! But he's tall too, so he's proportionate.

Evea is starting to smile and is very alert. She eats well and is very happy most of the time. She tolerates Easton very well! She likes to watch him, which is good...he needs watched!

Easton has been enjoying the nice weather and I'm sure cannot wait for the pool to open!

I started back to work on Wednesday, which was very hard. It was much easier coming back last time. But since Easton is so much more conversational now, and fun to be around, it's been a rough week being away from him. So I'm gonna cut this short now, cuz it's time to go home. We have a busy weekend ahead. Going to Osborne cuz Andrew asked if we could come mow the cemetery. Sounds like a good enough reason to go see Grammy and Pappy! And on Sunday we'll go thru Mankato and see Elwin's Grandma Dunstan, then meet up with Nanette and her family. They just had a new baby girl on April 21st, Kalli Lynn!

Anyway, happy weekend!

Baptism planned for March 21st

We're planning to do Evea's baptism in Osborne on Sunday, March 21st at 1:00pm. All family and friends are welcome. We'll probably do cake or something at my parents house afterward, although we haven't worked those details out yet. If you think you can come, please let me know (janie_s@yahoo.com). We'd love to see you all!

Evea is 2 weeks old

Here's the link the Evea's hospital announcement.

There's also more photos uploaded on Facebook in the Evea Louise album.

Things have been going really good. Easton has adjusted well (after only a few rough days). He loves his sister and gives her kisses as often as he can sneak one in! He's a little rough with her, especially when he's done with her. But he's much gentler than I thought he'd be! There's some good pictures of him with her in the Facebook album.

Evea is such a good and easy baby. She doesn't make much noise, unless she's hungry and I'm not moving fast enough! And she's perfectly content to sleep in her bassinet or bouncy seat. If Easton weren't home with me I think I'd get a lot more done! But it's kinda fun to get to spend time with him again, although it's nice when Daddy gets home and can give me a few minutes to myself! She's had her days and nights a bit turned around, but she's getting that fixed little by little. She's awake a little more every day, and I can't complain too much about the nights. It's been nice the past few days, so we've loaded her up in the sling or her car seat and have gone outside. She hasn't seemed to mind at all and sleeps right thru. But Easton has loved it. And I certainly have spring fever now!

Grammy Dene was here from Monday thru Thursday of this week, and Easton sure loved that. This morning he woke up and asked over and over, "Grammy? Grammy??" I think he misses her already! We certainly got spoiled while she was here. We weren't quite sure what to have for supper last night since she left and didn't have it all fixed up for us!!! Can't beat her cookin! Thanks Momma! She did leave us with a freezer full of yummy homemade egg rolls and beirochs though, and some homemade bread, pumpkin bread, and cinnamon rolls! And a breakfast casserole that was great this morning! She sure spoiled us!

Going home today

Well, it's Monday. Easton went back to daycare today, so hopefully that puts him in a good mood. Elwin went back to work, too. So it's been a pretty normal day for the two of them. Hopefully that makes for a good evening, as we'll be going home whenever Daddy gets here to pick us up. Mondays are usually good days for Easton. He gets to play with his friends and run off some energy from not having other kids around over the weekend. And this weekend has been especially strange and out of the norm for him, so I'm really hoping to pick up a a happy boy at 5:00! He's seen Sissy thru the window, but I think he'll be even more excited to meet her in person. Even though we have nothing planned, other than going home, I have a feeling it's gonna be a busy evening! Wish us luck!

I started a new album on Facebook, so here's the new link. This blog keeps breaking the last link up, even though it's whole when I type it in. So if you can't view the photos by just clicking on the link, try copying and pasting the WHOLE link into your browser. That may be the problem some people are having. If you only click on half, it won't work. Who knows why it keeps doing this, so you may just need to copy and paste. Or join Facebook. It's wonderfully addicting....right Betsy!?! Enjoy!

Evea Louise Dunstan

Evea Louise made her appearance yesterday (Feb 19, 2009) at 1:20pm. We were scheduled for c-section on Monday, 2/22, but I got kinda sick (like flu-like symptoms) on Wed, with a fever and all. I was feeling pretty miserable, and my dr had told me earlier in the week we could move it up if we wanted. I called on Thurs morning and they checked and the hospital was full on Fri. But, we got a call in the afternoon and they had an opening, so....here we are! We got to spend Fri morning with Easton, have breakfast and hang out a bit. Then dropped him off at daycare around 11am and was to be at the hospital at 11:30. C-section was scheduled for 1:30pm, but the drs ended up being free sooner, so they sent us down the hall around 1pm and at 1:20pm our little Evea Louise arrived! Almost a full 2 lbs heavier than Easton was at birth, she weighed in at 7 lbs 8 oz. and was 20 inches long. (Easton was 5 lbs 10 oz and 20 2/3 in.)

Grammy Dene made it down shortly after we were brought back to our room. Sadly, there's a tight restriction on visitors, due to the flu and sickness of this past year. Understandable, but hard on a Momma missing her busy little guy. No kids under the age of 12, and only 2 visitors total your whole stay. Luckily, Easton was able to come to the lobby today, and we held Sissy up to the window so he could see her. And I was able to go out and have lunch in the lobby with him and Daddy. I'll be looking forward to his reaction when we bring her home!
Finally tonight I got some photos uploaded to Facebook. The link is below. Tomorrow I'll try to upload some more...probably to a new album, so I'll post that link then. But enjoy these for now!

Preggo Pics

Here's a link to my new album on Facebook. They're photos that Dana took for us for some preggo shots. We decided to save our money and just have her do them. Then our regular photographer ended up volunteering to do it for free cuz she'd never done any. So I'll post those when I get them back.

Long time, no posts! Sorry!

Since I'm getting too lazy to upload pics on here AND on Facebook, I'll just upload them to Facebook, and then paste the link on here so you can view them. I can post more on Facebook anyway, so it's actually a better deal for all. You should be able to view these without having a FB account, but if you have problems, please let me know and I'll go back to doing it the other way.

January was a busy for us. We started out with Christmases the first two weekends of the month. When we were home Elwin was usually down in the basement. He's been working really hard to get half the basement finished, at least far enough that we can play down there during my maternity leave. Easton needs more room to run, since I probably won't be taking him outside a lot with a new baby in late Feb/early March! So now half the basement is closed off, wired (thanks Pappy for helping!), and sheetrocked. We bought a little heater that seems to be doing a great job on that half, despite it being fairly small. Although, I'm not as excited to see what the electric bill is after running a space heater for days on end!

Here's pics from January/February:

February has started off busy with dr appts, haircuts, Elwin has jury duty tomorrow, and we're headed to KC to see Dana and Justin this weekend. I think (*HOPE*) we'll be home the next two weekends, as those are our last weekends before the baby comes! Speaking of the baby, everything is looking great! Even though I'm on a medication which can cause growth restriction (it's to help control my migraines), Sissy is growing just fine. Compared to Easton, she's gonna be huge! Easton was 5lbs 10oz...yesterday Sissy weighed in (according to the sono) at 6lbs 6oz! And she still has 2 1/2 weeks left to grow! She may be very close to an 8 lb baby! I'm kinda hoping she'll stay on the smaller side, but we'll take her however she comes! I'll post a link to her Facebook album as well.

Sissy's album:

And just cuz I haven't posted in a while, here's stuff from December also.

I promise to TRY to keep up better, but we'll see what happens once there's 2 kiddos in the house! Hope you're having a great year so far!

Funny videos

This is Easton's newest phrase, and he says it a lot! Usually it's a little clearer, but he really was stuck, and a little upset by the time I started filming.

We were sitting in the car this morning waiting for 7:30 to roll around so Easton could go to daycare. He was telling me what Santa says, so I thought I'd share it with you!

Visiting Santa

We went to see Santa this last weekend. Easton wasn't scared of him, but he wouldn't sit on his lap. The best we got was a high five! Cousin Cayden wasn't scared at all though!

After visiting Santa, we saw some beautiful horses giving carriage rides outside the mall. We didn't go for a ride, but Easton got to pet the horses.

In preparation of meeting Santa, I had gotten Easton a few books with Santa in them. This one is very large and doesn't fit on the shelf, but it has fun tabs to open up. Last night I found Easton sitting in my chair reading to himself.

Big boy bed

We got Easton a big boy bed two weeks ago. Thought we'd get him adjusted to not sleeping in the crib before the baby comes. Just one less thing that he has to adjust to at that time! Baby alone will be a big enough adjustment, I'm sure!

He really likes the bed since he can get in and out of it himself. He's fallen asleep in it every night (except maybe one), with Daddy or I (ok, only me once!) laying down with him. At night if we ask him if he's ready to go night-night, he'll tell us yes and go to him room and climb in bed after giving us hugs and kisses. Of course, he won't stay there himself yet, so we do have to lay with him. But it's better than me rocking him to sleep every night. We're making progress!

Easton found Mommy's cowboy boots the other day. He's all about wearing our shoes around, or making us put them on whether we want to or not!

Big Barn

For Christmas, Elwin built Easton a barn. It's not a little barn, by any means! It's a big barn! It can fit Tonka trucks and large tractors. If he tried, I'm sure Easton could get in it too! We got him some farm animals for Christmas too, and he just loves them. He carries the sheep and horse around. Apparently they're better than the pig and the cow! And at night, sometimes he'll put everything back in the barn to go to sleep. Sometimes.

We had a couple snow days, so we piled on the clothes and decided to try out the snow. The last attempt wasn't too successful, but this time it was a little better. Elwin pushed him around the slick driveway on a shovel, which he thought was pretty great for a while. It was in the single digits that day, so we only stayed out about 10 minutes. The sitter takes them out and pulls them on the sled and he loves that. We haven't made it out to sled yet, but it looks like we might have another chance in a day or two! Not much for timing, but when is snow ever timed just right?!

Facebook or not????

So I've been posting the same photos and videos on here and on Facebook. I'm wondering how many that view this blog also belong to Facebook and are seeing them twice. It's much easier to upload to Facebook, it seems. So, if you don't belong to FB, and would like me to keep uploading everything here, please respond in the comments section. If there are more than a few people, then I'll keep doing both. But if everyone is also viewing them on FB, then I'll just post links on here to let you know when there are new photos. Thanks!

Silly videos

Easton has been yelling "GO!" a lot lately! Sometimes it's "Ready, Set, Go!" or "Set, Go!" But GO seems to be the main point of it all! Sometimes we help him out and cheer him on (with hopes that it will tire him out!!!)

We've been working on animal sounds a lot lately. I'd been trying to teach him "Nay" for the horse for weeks now, but to no avail. All the sudden, on Monday, he points to the horse and says this:

I guess it's way more fun to say it that way!!! Maybe next we'll work on snorting instead of saying oink. He seems to smile and giggle more when ya snort anyway!

DOWN!

Easton's big thing right now is to do "touchdown" (hold his arms above his head as if signaling a touchdown). I'm sure you can imagine where he learned that! Anyway, he does it at random now. It's so darn funny. But lately, he's been doing it when he gets to the bottom of stairs too. He makes it all the way down, then throws his hands up and yells "DOWN!" This is the first I've seen him do it on the slide, and I'm so glad I left my camera on long enough to catch it on video. Cracks me up!!!

Frucks and Combines

We went to Osborne after the wedding on Saturday night, mainly because it was closer. But also because we'll be back up north all of this next weekend for Opening Pheasant weekend. Easton and Elwin took naps and played while Grammy Dene and I sewed a purse. We (mainly SHE) finished it in a couple hours, so we had some lunch and headed home.

On the way home we decided to make a couple pit stops in Beloit, as it was a beautiful day and seemed a waste to be in the car the whole time. So we stopped at Carrico's and looked at frucks (tractors) and combines. Apparently looking was okay, but touching didn't go over quite as well.

Another weekend, another wedding!

This weekend we went to Beloit for Elwin's cousin Jerry's wedding. Easton had a good time dancing and running around with cousin Kayla and the million other kids there. We were all pretty wiped by the end of the day! We made a small attempt several times to get a photo of the 3 cousins (Easton, Kayla and Cayden), but never got that accomplished. Hopefully at Christmas...

Finally remembered to take a photo of Crystal and Earl with baby Cayden. He was a very good sport for being passed around to as many people as he was! And of course, he tolerated Easton's hugs like a trooper!

Right before we left, so probably not the most flattering point of the day! Should've taken this one in the afternoon!
