First black eye

I had been taking advantage of the fact that Easton has never tried too hard to roll or crawl off the changing table. Until now. I turned to grab his clothes from the dresser, and turned back around just in time to see him roll right off, head first, down to the hard wood floor. It left a nice shiner. Elwin was first to tell everyone that I did it, and not him!

This is what it looked like on Saturday shortly after it happened.

When he woke up on Sunday it had a nice bruise forming.

And on Monday it was nice and black and blue.

There is now a foam mat next to the changing table, just in case!

Eating dirt

Once again, I'm way behind on posting photos. So I'll try to catch up a bit. We have been busy, busy people this last month. When we get the chance though, we like to play outside a bit. And Easton wants to taste EVERYTHING!

Easton is starting to pull himself up to a standing position. Not too interested yet in the walking motion, but getting the hang of standing. Before long he'll be running everywhere!

9 month photos

Here are a few of Easton's 9 month photos. There's more on my Facebook page if you'd like to see them. They just get better each time!

May 17...be there!

So for those of you who I haven't told, we've picked the date for E's first birthday party...May 17th. There are no major plans set yet, but we're thinking lunch and cake. Probably do lunch around noonish then cake at 2pm or something. We have reserved our wonderful photographer for a few hours, and instead of doing his usual shoot, she's going to come shoot his party. So we plan to do some family pics, especially with the little cousins and grandparents. So I hope everyone can be there! We will, of course, take some time to do our own little shoot with just him (and maybe some with Charlie!) Anyway, mark it on your calendar...Sunday, May 17.

Cheryl's Wedding

We stayed with Uncle Earl and Aunt Crystal over the weekend for Cheryl's wedding. Here's Earl and Easton at lunch on Saturday before we got ready to head up to Nebraska for the wedding.

Crystal sure does have a fun face to pull on! Oh wait, EVERYONE has a fun face to pull on!

He's on good lookin little man in his new suit jacket! The pants are still too big...but that's okay. I think the khakis kinda make him look like a used car salesman! The jacket with jeans just looks pimpin!

Easton was pretty excited to crawl around after the wedding. All the boys were running circles on the dance floor while everyone was eating cake. They kept sitting in a circle around him "so he wouldn't get hurt", one of them told me! Whatever the reason, he loved it!

Congratulations Cheryl!

New Wedding Attire

Easton got a new outfit yesterday for some weddings we have this spring. I'm very excited because the lime green will match Jillie's colors! We got a size too big, so I need to exchange it. I'll post some pictures after the first wedding this weekend. I'm sure it'll be much cuter when it fits a little better!

Another day home with Mom

Easton spent the first 3 days with me this week. Dalton (Melissa's youngest son and Easton's best buddy) had his tonsils taken out on Monday. So Bubs and I had some great bonding time at work on Monday and Wednesday, and we stayed home on Tuesday. He's so much happier now that he's mobile! It's a huge difference. I feel like I can do stuff again. He does follow ya room to room quite a bit of the time, but he can get there himself! And often, he'll play by himself for a hour straight and not even notice where you are.

On Tuesday I vacuumed the floors, and he just thought the vacuum was so fun! He chased me around and had a blast. When I put it down, he kept trying to move it like he was vacuuming. Of course, when I got the camera out, he just sat there and stared at me! Maybe I'll have a little helper in a few years!

When he wakes up now, instead of just laying there crying, he's sitting himself up. Sometimes he'll get on his knees and hold onto the edge of the crib. We need to lower it down so he doesn't tumble over once he starts pulling himself up!

It's all great until Mommy catches him knawing on the edge of the rail!
