Misc June & July

Here are a few misc June and July photos that I haven't posted yet.

First two are from swimming lessons in early June.

We've only used the baby pool once so far. We've discovered that it's impossible to get the water warm enough for him to want to sit in it! I filled it an hour before we went out and let it set in the sun, then I brought out 2 or 3 pitchers of HOT water from inside. Still cold. I guess maybe it needs a whole day out in the sun. So the only way to get Easton to sit in it was to let him play with the spray nozzle!

A couple weeks back, we were in Osborne for the weekend. Grammy, Dana and Justin took Easton out to the farm (Elwin and I were already out at the farm mowing the cemetary.) They went to a farm neighbors house (Ronnie and Dorene's) to pick cherries! Ronnie was a good playmate while everyone else picked cherries.

Then the next day we went out to the field to help cut wheat. We weren't much help that day, but it was still fun. Apparently there was too much to look at to bother looking at the camera for a picture in the combine!

And finally...the 4-wheelers. Instead of riding his, Easton pushes it around most of the time. And since Daddy couldn't get Uncle Earl's 4-wheeler to start, they were both in the same boat!

I think that catches us up thru July now! I haven't been taking many pictures lately, and need to do a little better job. We're hoping August is a bit calmer than July was, so maybe we'll get some nice relaxing pictures at home. Here's hoping...

Mess Maker

The other night Elwin was cooking up some minute steaks for supper. I guess Easton thought he should help, cuz he grabbed the bowl of flour and pulled it to the floor. This is what I saw when I walked in!

Great Park Weather

The weather was so nice this afternoon that Easton and I decided to go to the park. Who can beat 75 degrees in July?!?!

Almost Walking!

Easton is almost walking! He's been working on taking a step or two for a couple days now. But today he's gotten a little gutzier and is taking a few more steps. I'm thinking he'll be going pretty strong by the weekend, but I guess we'll see. Sorry the tv sound is so loud in the background.

Ever since he was a little baby, Elwin has been doing this little song and dance to the $5 Footlong Subway commercial. I probably have a video of that somewhere, but that would take some digging! We'll see. Anyway, yesterday that song came on tv and Easton went nuts. So tonight we tried to get a new video of him dancing. He wouldn't look at the camera and dance for us, but the video we got is hilarious. At least I think so! Not sure where he's going so fast, but he was sure in a hurry to get there! Silly guy!

4th of July - Day 2

On Sunday, Nanette, David, and Kayla were in town. So we shot off some more fireworks and played outside for a while.

4th of July

We had a very busy, but good 4th of July. We stayed in town, as it was the big Randolph Independence Day Celebration. We spent a few minutes watching the 4-wheelers in the Mud Bogand eating sandwiches and homemade pie from the Church, but mostly we just spent a lot of time outside and with friends and family. I was in charge of the Kiddie Parade, so Elwin decorated Easton's Cozy Coupe and entered him. He got 2nd place! And the two of them walked through the whole parade! I think they had a blast!

Easton seemed to enjoy the fireworks.

Easton turned one (many weeks ago...)

Many weeks ago, our little Easton turned one! I've had photos on Facebook for a week now, but forget that many people don't use Facebook, or can't view it from work. So I'm finally getting around to putting on the pics. It's easiest to do it as a slide show, but if you want any of the photos, please email me and I'll send them to you. I will be sending everyone a copy of their photo, as well... whenever I get around to doing the thank yous!

Since many weeks have passed, I suppose we should do an update too. Easton has been pulling himself up for months now. And now he's finally starting to let go without scaring himself. His favorite thing to do is stand up and clap....especially in the bathtub. Which, last night, turned out to be a mistake! He slipped and before I could catch his head, smashed it into the edge of the tub. I didn't understand why he wouldn't stop crying until Elwin told me there was blood in his eye. He must've landed on the edge of the tub in his eye socket, and hit it just right. It's not bad, but there's a small cut.

We started Parents/Tots swim lessons on Monday, and he loved it from the start. The temp was probably in the 60's that first night, but the water was 80 degrees. He was all smiles (and a few shivers...but he wasn't complaining.) It rained out class yesterday, but we'll be there tomorrow. And looking forward to it!

This weekend will be Easton's first campout, so I'll try to get some photos posted next week...but no promises! I do promise to take some at least! How fast they make it up is an entirely different story....

But for now, enjoy the birthday pics and enjoy your summer!
