We headed to Lovewell Lake this last weekend for Auntie Kristen's baby shower and a family campout. It was Easton's first camping trip and he had a great time! He's an outdoor boy, so he loved every minute of it. Had so much fun during the day that he even slept great in his pack n play all night long (which he usually won't stay in there more than a couple hours).
This was our VERY FULL car on the way to the lake. We like to cook over the fire, so we always have so much more stuff than everyone else! Not to mention we were the only people camping in a tent, so we have all that extra stuff to bring along also.
It was a warm day for Kristen's shower, but it was windy enough that in the shade it felt pretty good.
Uncle Aaron had a friend who also camped with us who had a deck boat. So we got to go for a ride on both Sat and Sun. Easton seemed to enjoy that. He took a nice nap while on the boat on Sat. We were out for a couple hours, so it was a good spot to get in a good nap! Then on Sun we got him in the water and he seemed to really like it once he got used to it! After he played in the water it was time for nap. I think the two naps he took on the boat might have been about the only naps he took the whole weekend!
Just a random photo of E. I didn't ever think to get my camera out at the campsite, so no photos of Easton in the tent or anything. Darn it!
The only bad part about the whole weekend was that Easton got bit by something. We weren't sure what it was, because we couldn't see any bite marks. But his hand swelled up HUGE! It was red and hot and looked horrible. We went to Superior, NE to get him some liquid Benedryl, but it didn't seem to help too much. When we got back home yesterday afternoon we called the dr and they had us bring him in. The swelling had gone down some by then, and you could see a puss pocket and an obvious bite mark by then. Dr thinks it was probably a brown recluse spider. So now we have to watch him and make sure he doesn't get a fever or the bite area start to die. Brown recluse are famous for leaving "craters" in the skin. He's on an antibiotic now, so we'll hope for the best and for no holy fingers! The swelling was a little better this morning, but it's still not quite back to normal.
