A year ago today

A year ago today, we woke up at 3am with great anticipation. We waited all day to meet our little man. I didn't get to hold him right away, but the second he grabbed my finger and held on so tight, I knew he was the greatest thing that would ever happen to me. A year has never gone so fast in my entire life! I'm certain I'm going to blink and before I know what hit me he'll be graduating from high school! This has been the best year of my life and we're so, so very blessed. Thanks to you all for being a part of it!

Happy Birthday Easton!

Birthday Boy!

I didn't take many pictures at the party for some odd reason. Couldn't find my camera half the time (which really, I think it was in my back pocket!) But that's okay, Kristen (our wonderful photographer) was there, and we'll have some great photos to post next week.

Here's a cute one of cousin Kayla and Easton, early in the day.

I slaved for hours and hours on his cake, which turned out to be pretty amazing, I would say! And then I forgot to take a picture of it! So I guess we'll wait for Kristen's pictures. They'll be 10 times better than any that I would've taken anyway. Easton fell asleep right before we were going to do cake, so we don't have a photo of him with the cake. We let him nap for about a half hour, then woke him up to have his cake and open gifts. He made it the rest of the day after that...just needed a little powernap!

He didn't get too messy or care to much for the cake. He had more fun trying to feed Dad I think. Granted, he'd only been awake a few minutes when we stuck it in front of him! So he kinda had a disadvantage!

He had lots of help opening presents though. Which was a good thing, or we've been there all day!

I'm pretty sure the directions said "Do not use a hammer..." Hmm...

Thank you all for coming to the party! I'm sorry I was a stress ball there for a while! We had a great time and hope you all did too. Thanks for all the gifts and thanks to those of you that brought salads, helped cook, clean up, and move tables. We couldn't have done it without you! It was a great day! Happy Birthday Easton!

Random Fun

After Easton has been outside crawling around on the driveway for awhile, his knees must start to hurt. He starts crawling on his hands and feet instead. It's pretty funny to watch. I can't seem to get a good picture of it though.

I bought this cute little outfit on clearance at the Gap last summer, thinking it would fit this summer. Well, he's too long. It fits, but it's awful tight around the legs! Guess he won't be wearing it. At least he's a good dolly and lets me try clothes on him without much of a fight.

Easton has a strange fascination with the dishwasher. He is ALWAYS trying to pull the door open if it's not latched, or pull stuff out when we're trying to load or unload it. He's figured out how to crawl up on it, but can't get back down yet. I'm hoping this is a sign that he will like doing dishes when he's older!

Melissa's boys, Anthony and Dalton, are such fun. Easton gets SO excited to see them. He'll almost jump out of our arms with excitement if he sees them downtown or somewhere out of the ordinary. They all play together so well. We're very lucky to have such a great daycare situation. Thanks Melissa!

Elwin's Birthday

Easton needs a haircut...there's no ignoring it anymore. I think he can pull back a pony tail longer than me!

Easton rarely falls asleep in random positions. But he was fussing one day so we laid down in our bed. He wouldn't lay still. Finally he just bent forward and before I knew it he was asleep. I think it looks painful!

For Elwin's birthday, he and I took a day off work and went to Topeka to spend our hard earned garage sale money. For lunch we found our inner child and went to ChuckE Cheese. Neither of us had ever been before. We did feel kinda funny being the only people in the place without a kid, as we had left Easton at Melissa's. But we got over it quickly and had fun.
