Halloween at Famous Dave's

We took Easton trick-or-treating last night...kinda. We dressed him up and went out to supper with some friends! It was a treat for us anyway! We went to Famous Dave's. It was Kids Night, so they had their pig mascot running around. We snagged him for a quick picture with Easton, who wasn't very thrilled to be stuffed back into the costume again! I don't blame him though. We'd had him at the doctor earlier to confirm our suspicions of an ear infection. Poor guy is in a bit of pain. I hope the drops help and it heals up fast. Daddy has big plans for him to go hunting with us this weekend! Hopefully I'll get some better Halloween pics this weekend.

I made Easton a hat and some longer pants this week! And I must say, they're not terrible! I bought some bright orange fleece, so tonight I'm gonna try to make him a hat with ear flaps and a little vest for hunting this weekend!

Eating Ice & Lovin' on Charlie

Grammy gave Easton some ice on Sunday. He liked it a lot! Must've felt good on those gums and new teeth.

Last night, Easton and Charlie had a good time lovin' on each other. Easton likes Charlie and giggles when Charlie kisses him, but he's never shown this much excitement for him! I think they'll be great buds.

Weekend at Grammy Dene & Pappy Scott's

Elwin's a big fan of spiking Easton's hair. Pretty sure at some point the boy will have a mohawk!
We visited lots of family this weekend. Kristen was home from Colorado, but I forgot to take pictures. Sorry Kristen! We had supper with her and Marilyn and Jenny Flavin on Friday night on the way to Osborne. Easton was out cold by the time we got to Oz. Here he is all passed out with Grandpappy.
Vernie was also visiting this weekend. Here they are trying to get him to eat some cereal. We tried putting him in Grandma Anna's old high chair, but he's too little yet. We had to tie him in so he wouldn't slide out, then he hit his head on the back and wasn't happy! Maybe by Christmas he can use it!
And asleep again... with Grammy Dene this time.
Elwin went out to the farm to help all day. They dug footings for a new grain bin and finally got in the field to cut some soybeans in the late afternoon. They made it home in time for some fried chicken and homemade cherry pie! (Easton had milk and cereal....yum!)
Uncle Andrew with his usual smirk...

Sunday we went over to Lucas to the K-18 Cafe for lunch with the boys. Here's some spit-up just for you, Pappy!

We had a fun weekend! And we'll be back this coming weekend to see Jillie! Can't wait!

Gamma's Birthday Weekend

We traveled up north for Gamma Nancy's birthday this last weekend. Before the surprise party we made a pit stop at Great Grandma Dunstan's. Here's Easton and cousin Kayla with Great Grandma.

We finally got to meet cousin Dakota. She's about 2 months older than Easton.

Gamma Nancy, the birthday girl, with her two grandbabies. Happy 50th Gamma!

I had to hide in the doorway so he wouldn't clam up for the camera. This is what we've all been listening to the last couple days. At least it's a happy squeal!

Easton has been working on sitting up on his own. This is the longest I've seen him sit unsupported. He doesn't seem to interested in rolling over, but certain is in sitting up.

Wordle

So Betsy had this fun site (www.wordle.com) on her blog a while ago and I just discovered it. It's fun! You can certainly waste some time on there though! I just linked it back to this blog and it pulled words out. Would be kinda fun to make a family names thing.

Jumpin

On Sunday we pulled out the Johnny Jumper.  We still haven't gotten him one of the exersaucers, but I remember that we had this in the basement.  And sure enough, he seems to like it!  It's not quite as entertaining as Melissa's toy, I'm sure.  Especially since he can push everything on the floor and then has to wait til someone picks it up again!  But he likes to bounce and spin around.  We'll see how long he likes it before he decides he's done and moves onto something else!  That seems to be the norm.  He liked the bouncy seat for a few weeks, liked his pacifier for a few weeks, liked the swing only a couple times....pretty much he just likes it if you sit in front of him and dance!  Too bad we're too busy for that!   Thank God for Dalton, or I'm sure Melissa would hate us!!!

Standin' and Gigglin'

Easton has been getting stronger and stronger. Last week he barely put weight on his legs for 10-20 seconds. Now he'll stand there for what seems like minutes! Melissa (our babysitter) has one of those exersaucers, and he just loves it. She says he bounces and giggles, and it has obviously helped a lot to build strength. We need to get one.

Elwin and Easton play this new game where Elwin rubs Easton's belly on his head. Easton seems to think it's hilarious and laughs and laughs! I tried to get a video to post, but every time I put the camera up, he freezes up and stops giggling! He'll smile, but not laugh...like he knows it's on video instead of photo! Little turd! One of these days I'll have to be more sneaky! Happy Friday!
